Armando Gets Hurt Early In The Game

Coming off an ankle injury from the last game against Alabama in the Phil Knight Invitational, Armando Bacot was still ready to go for the matchup against Indiana. Where he was much needed to faceoff against one of the country's best big men in Trayce Jackson-Davis. Early in the game, Armando went up for a block on Jackson-Davis, the event that lead to his shoulder injury. Afterward, you could see him then grab and stretch that spot every so often down the court while both teams traded possessions.

It was very visible that it bothered Bacot, as he was then subbed out to be looked at by Carolina's trainer, Doug Halverson. Though, as we all know Armando Bacot, looking back earlier this year in the Final Four where he suffered an ankle injury, questioned his ability to play in the national title game. Despite that, Bacot was able to play that game, surprising many fans of the college basketball world.

The same goes here in this situation as Armando came back in the game ready to play and try to help his team come out victorious.

Caleb Love's Shooting Efficiency Woes

In Carolina's last outing as a team, Caleb Love shot 13-36 from the field, resulting in 36% on the night. Something that Coach Hubert does not want to see at all from his talented junior guard from Saint Louis, Missouri.

Unfortunately, Caleb ended his night against the Hoosiers going 5-16, totaling 31% for the game. As much anticipated during the preseason, Tar Heel fans were expecting the complete opposite out of Love, to play on a consistent level throughout the season. Reflecting on the star-studded performances he had a season ago, especially during UNC's magical run to the national championship against Kansas.

So far, that doesn't seem to be the case, but no need to give up on Love as the team as a whole needs to work on so much collectively considering playing on the last Monday night of the season is the goal. We'll have to watch more as the journey progresses if things start to fall for Caleb on the offensive side of the ball.

Offensive Game Plan Is Out Of Sorts

Throughout the eight games now for UNC, it seems like the team ball aspect with a lot of passing, cutting, and scoring has disappeared from what we all saw a season ago. As many of you watch the games, it could easily be seen by the Tar Heels that there's so much one-on-one dribbling, trying to score on your own kind of offense. Where it hasn't been doing the team justice whatsoever, as told by UNC's record at the moment.

UNC needs to go back to playing inside-out, establishing the post position of Armando Bacot, arguably the nation's best big man in the paint. Then to find the open man whoever may happen to be outside from beyond the arc. More sharing needs to be happening for the Heels than dribbling because that has always been a staple of Carolina basketball ever since before.

Coach Davis and the staff must find the formula to get the team back in the winning column. This next game is one to watch, looking to see if there will be any adjustments made.

Pete Nance Was The Only Bright Spot In This Game

The former big man from Northwestern has had experience already with playing in the Assembly Hall, where he finished with a team-high of 15 points. Showing off a flurry of moves from turnaround post jumpers, and hook shots, while getting to the charity stripe as well too.

If it wasn't for Nance's scoring during the first half, the Heels could've been down by so much more going into halftime. I guess you could say they were lucky only trailing by 6 against the high-intensity Indiana team.

Opening Up ACC Play With Virginia Tech

UNC will travel once again to Blacksburg, Virginia to faceoff against Virginia Tech, who comes in at 7-1 so far this season. The game will be televised on ACC Network at 3 PM EST, so set some time up and watch the Tar Heels try and snap their three-game losing skid this Sunday.
