Chapel Hill - Back at home, the #7-ranked Tar Heels scoop up a win against the Virginia Tech Hokies by a score of 96-81. The fifth-year senior out of Richmond, Virginia, Armando Bacot, took control with another double-double on the season. Helping his squad obtain their 20th win of the season.

Paint Control by Armando Bacot

He did it again.

Armando Bacot fishes up another double-double on the season, scoring 25 points and securing 12 rebounds. Bacot completed his outing on 11 of 16 field goal attempts, going 100% (3-3) from the free throw line.

Bacot played his role in sealing position down low and demanding the ball from his teammates; credit goes to the other four Tar Heels for feeding UNC's all-time rebounder in the paint.

It felt like there was no way to stop the 6'11, 240-pound big man for Virginia Tech, as they were unable to find a solution to combat UNC's offensive game plan.

The sky is the limit when Bacot plays at this kind of level; it's all about the consistency moving forward as postseason play creeps up.

Domination on the Glass

The final rebounding margin between UNC and Virginia Tech concluded at 43-31, with Coach Davis' squad at the forefront. 14 of North Carolina's total rebounds were offensive, as the frontcourt of Armando Bacot and Harrison Ingram did a great job at keeping the ball alive through back taps and snatching the ball themselves off a missed shot.

Ingram came up with another huge rebounding total of 17 boards; his tenacity and fight for the ball at his size are unlike many in the country.

On the season, Bacot is averaging 10 rebounds, while Ingram is contributing 9 each game.

Rest Time Before the Cavaliers

UNC does play another game for awhile, as they will have a week's worth of rest to prepare for the #21 Virginia Cavaliers (20-6, 11-4 conference) on the road at the John Paul Jones Arena this coming Saturday, February 24th.

Another chance for North Carolina to grab a Quad 1 victory.
