Chapel Hill - #14 UNC came out of the second half fired up as they erased their 6-point deficit and never looked back, beating the Panthers by a score of 91-69. 

Second Half Explosion

The Tar Heels looked all kinds of sloppy during the first half, unable to contain Northern Iowa on the defensive end, and could not convert any shots as they ran their offense. 

All of that changed after halftime.

With the help of shot-making by Cormac Ryan and Harrison Ingram and intensified defensive pressure, the Tar Heels found themselves up big. UNC was poised and hungry in comparison to the first 20 minutes which involved plenty of turnovers and missed field goal attempts. 

6 different guys for Coach Davis completed the game in double-figures, sharing the wealth throughout the game. 

UNC seeks to come right out of the gate firing on all cylinders each game, not just after Coach Davis's halftime speech. 

Surging From Downtown 

The three-point barrage arrived for UNC as it was only a matter of time before finishing the game 12-26 as a team.
 
That totals up to 46%.

Rematch of the 2016 National Championship Game 

It has been 7 years.
 
7 years since a heartbreaking buzzer-beater defeat, one that featured an incredible shot by current staff member Marcus Paige that tied the 2016 National Championship game against Villanova at 74 a piece.
 
UNC matches up with them during the semi-finals of the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament.

The game is at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN.

UNC Basketball: A Rematch of the 2016 National Title Game

   (Photo Courtesy Jim Hawkins/Inside Carolina) Chapel Hill - UNC vs. Villanova is here.   Coach Davis and the Tar Heels are presented with a contest that has a very intense past history.   Back in the 2016 National Championship after beating a 10-seeded Syracuse team during the Final Four that ended with a score of 83-66. UNC Basketball Preview: Jumpman Invitational

(Photo Courtesy Jim Hawkins/Inside Carolina)  Chapel Hill - Tomorrow, December 20th, at 9:00 p.m., the Tarheels will play the #7 Oklahoma Sooners in the Jumpman Invitational. Last season, the Heels won this special event against Michigan by a score of 80-76. Coach Davis and his team seek to snap their two-game losing streak after the battles involving #5 UConn in the Jimmy V Classic and #9 Kentucky in the CBS Sports Classic. UNC went toe-to-toe against Kentucky, shrinking deficits throughout the game, which unfortunately resulted in a turnover during their last halfcourt possession in what looked to be a setup for an RJ Davis catch-and-shoot three-pointer. However, Davis blasted for 27 points with seven rebounds and four assists, alongside Cormac Ryan's 20-point outing, shooting eight of twelve for the game and four of seven from behind the three-point line.
