UNC Did Not Let Up
While the lead for the Tar Heels was down to one point during the second half, after a Jaeden Zackery layup at the 6:07 mark for Boston College. UNC came right back down the court, and Caleb Love comes up big with a three-pointer after an offensive rebound, stretching the lead to four and making the score 59-55 at the 5:21 mark.
Ever since that possession, the Tar Heels kept it together and maintained the lead all the way to the finish line.
As seen in games past, in those kinds of situations UNC has been prone to giving up the lead. Fortunate enough, tonight they stuck it out and secured the ACC victory.
North Carolina ended the game winning by a score of 72-64.
Pete Nance Rejoins The Starting Lineup
After missing the last 3 games (Notre Dame, Virginia, and Louisville), Pete Nance has made his return to the starting five, as he finished the contest with 6 points, 5 rebounds, and an assist, converting on 2 of 7 from the field, knocking down 2 of 4 from behind the three point line.
Nance becoming healthy to play gives Coach Davis the two big men he wants to employ on the floor. Instead of always being forced to play small ball with Leaky Black at the four spot in the frontcourt alongside Bacot (although that idea is not bad by any means whatsoever).
Having the 6'10 center, a fifth-year senior transfer from Northwestern, also allows Bacot to rest as well as maintain size and a defensive anchor on the floor.
Tar Heel fans should be pleased to have Pete Nance back out there.
Armando Bacot Adds On To His List Of Accolades
Bacot has now tied Billy Cunningham for the most double-doubles in UNC history, with 60 completing the game with a total of 20 points and 16 rebounds.
Next game, Armando Bacot looks to break the record and make even more UNC history for the books.
