Armando Bacot Rose To The Top Of UNC Records

Armando Bacot has done it!

The senior big man out of Richmond, Virginia, broke not one but two records on the same night against NC State.

Bacot became the all-time leader in UNC history for double-doubles and rebounds (previously held by Billy Cunningham and Tyler Hansbrough).

Armando Bacot ended the game with 23 points and 18 rebounds while shooting 8 for 13 from the field and making 100% of his free throws, going 7 for 7.

All while getting the sweet victory against the Triangle foe by a score of 80-69.

Leaky Black Left The Game

Leaky Black exited the game during the second half after receiving a flagrant 2, which resulted from a block attempt on NC State's Terquavian Smith.

Smith was driving in for a layup on the left side of the rim, and as he went up, Black went up as well for the block but unfortunately ended up swiping Smith in the face, forcing him to fall down hard onto the floor.

Afterwards, you can then see Smith underneath the basket not getting up as trainers from both benches ended up having to check up on him.

Smith, eventually, had to be lifted onto a stretcher and taken out of the Dean E. Smith Center.

You hate to see this happen to anyone in the game of basketball, injuries are the absolute worst.

Best wishes and prayers for Terquavian Smith, as we all hope to see him back out there on the court soon.

UNC Maintains Composure Throughout

Despite the physicality, UNC was able to sustain that and fight through where at times they trailed against the Wolfpack.

UNC was able to use that physicality to their advantage, picking up foul after foul, which ended in them lining up behind the charity stripe.

They finished the game shooting 36–39 from the free throw line, a huge contribution to the team's scoring total of 80 points.

North Carolina seeks to continue this free throw success in future games.

UNC Travels Again

The Tar Heels will be traveling to New York to enter a matchup with Syracuse, who have a current record of 13-7 on the season and a 6-3 record in ACC play.

The game is set for 9:00 p.m. ET this coming Tuesday, January 24th, on ESPN.
