Chapel Hill - #9 North Carolina tramples the Charleston Southern Buccaneers by a score of 105-60 at the Dean Smith Center, last night in front of a patiently awaited fan base.

The Rotation Was Firing on All Cylinders

Five different guys marked the double-digit scoring total as RJ Davis took the lead and laid out 20 points, Elliot Cadeau chipped in 13 points, Armando Bacot doing damage on the inside as usual with 12, and Harrison Ingram from inside and out added on 10. Alongside the two main substitutes, Seth Trimble and Jalen Washington tacked on 12 and 17 points, respectively.

It must have been an extremely tough assignment defensively for the Buccaneers because there were too many options for Coach Davis that were capable of scoring the basketball.

UNC completed the game by shooting 56.2% from the field while sinking 42.3% from deep, making 11 out of their 26 attempts.

The defensive rebounding stepped up quite well in this matchup, as the Heels were able to secure 46 of them against Charleston Southern, marking a differential of 11.

Turnovers were held to only 5 for the entire 40 minutes of action, which needs to be consistent if UNC wants to be successful along the way until the very end.

There are many positives to grasp from this final battle of non-conference play. It's only a matter if this continues to happen moving forward.

RJ Davis Makes History

Among the many different players who have worn the North Carolina jersey ever since the basketball program came about, it was not until RJ Davis that this one-of-a-kind accolade was completed.

Last night, Davis became the first player in program history to obtain 20 points, 10 assists, and five steals.

Numerous great guards have come through this prestigious school, including Ty Lawson, Kendall Marshall, Marcus Paige, and Joel Berry II, and yet none of them were able to achieve this accolade.

Davis, time and time again, thrives once more this season; the transformation he has made ever since he stepped on campus has been phenomenal.

However, there's still a lot left to be done and more to be accomplished than this personal accomplishment, presumably a national championship.

Tough Road Ahead

North Carolina will return this coming Tuesday, January 2nd, and face the Pittsburgh Panthers on the road.

This will be their first true road contest of the season and the start of a three-game stretch away from home.

The game will be on ESPN at 7:00 p.m.
