Chapel Hill - The #9 Tarheels will travel to the State Farm Arena, the home of the Atlanta Hawks, to square off with #14 Kentucky for the CBS Sports Classic, led by one of college basketball's greats, John Calipari.
North Carolina will be back in action after taking on #5 UConn last week at Madison Square Garden for the Jimmy V Classic, which they lost by a score of 87-76. RJ Davis took charge once more as he notched another 26-point outing while adding four rebounds and four assists in the process. Harrison Ingram tacked on 20 points of his own as well as five assists. Davis and Ingram continue to be the consistent pieces within the first nine games of this young season. Nonetheless, this does not mean the rest of the guys on the roster will not find their stride, as only time will tell on a game-to-game basis.
Kentucky, on the other hand, defeated the Pennsylvania Quakers in the Malone Classic in a 15-point blowout that ended 81-66. The fifth-year senior, Antonio Reeves, led the starting five with 16 points, shooting seven of thirteen from the field and two of six from behind the three-point line. On top of this production, the pair of freshmen, Aaron Bradshaw and Rob Dillingham, added 17 points each.
For the fourth time this season, UNC has the chance to add another Top 25 win into the books, boosting their Quad 1 record, which becomes all the talk on Selection Sunday.
The game will be tomorrow, December 15th, at 5:30 p.m. on CBS.
UNC is currently listed at 53.1% for the matchup predictor, according to ESPN Analytics
