Chapel Hill - #9 UNC will take a trip to New York as they will face #5 UConn on Tuesday night in the Jimmy V Classic game.
North Carolina enters this contest off a come-from-behind victory against the Florida State Seminoles, where the help of a full-court press became handy down the stretch during the second half. RJ Davis led the way once again for his third straight 27-point outing, and the Heels took home the win, 78-70, in front of the Carolina faithful.
UConn, the 2023 National Champions who defeated the San Diego Aztecs earlier this year, led by Coach Dan Hurley, who is currently in his fourth season as the lead man, is sitting at a 7-1 record as they recently fell to #2 Kansas by a score of 69-65. Tristen Newton, the senior out of El Paso, Texas, exploded for 31 points, six rebounds, and two assists against the Jayhawks. Newton converted 10 out of his 18 shot attempts, going six of nine from downtown and five of eight from the free throw line.
Yet again, another highly anticipated matchup for UNC has been well-awaited by fans.
UNC is currently listed at 40.7% for the matchup predictor, according to ESPN Analytics.
