North Carolina's Transition Defense Was Not Enough
Throughout the game, UNC's defense on the fastbreak was insufficient to stop Duke from scoring. As it was one of Duke's main contributors to their scoring total, which hurt UNC in the process.
It felt like after a missed shot, the Heels were not able to get back to defend, causing an easy bucket on the other end.
It must be very unpleasant for Coach Davis to watch his team defend the way they did in transition during the 63-57 loss.
Pete Nance's Shots Were Not Dropping
The performance of Pete Nance in his first matchup of the rivalry did not go as well as he probably hoped.
Nance only tallied a total of 2 points on 1 of 10 from the field, along with going 0 of 5 from three.
Not much of a factor during his 30 minutes of game action but UNC needed his size on the glass to matchup with Duke's big men in the paint.
The Tar Heels Look Ahead To The Next Outing
UNC will continue on with their schedule this coming Tuesday, February 7th, against Wake Forest on the road.
The tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
