The Heels Come Out Flat During The Second Half
After a promising first half for UNC despite being down by one point, it felt like the progression from the Clemson game was translating over.
Unfortunately, that was not the case.
Coach Davis's squad came out cold from the locker room as it became a 10 point deficit at the 14:28 mark. The shots were not falling for UNC, and it did not help that it was a struggle to get the ball inside down low to Armando Bacot.
As the team moves forward going into their next outing, there needs to be consistency through all 40 minutes of game action. Arguably UNC's biggest problem during this entire season.
UNC's Shot Making From Downtown Was Nonexistent
At the end of UNC's 80-72 loss to Miami, they shot a total of 16% from beyond the arc.
There were a lot of good looks but just unable to convert, as the offense could not find a rhythm at all.
This season's squad is not known for making a ton of three-point shots, as they rank last in the ACC, percentage wise, at 31%.
Surely, the shots will eventually fall, though UNC needs them to fall now as there are only 5 regular season games left and an NCAA Tournament appearance is in jeopardy.
North Carolina Travels Down To Raleigh
In Carolina's next outing, they make the trip to Raleigh for a rematch at PNC Arena with #23 NC State. Another opportunity to get a quality win and add it to the resume.
The time is set for 1:00 p.m. ET this Sunday, February 19th.
Winning from here on out is what needs to happen for UNC if they want to get a chance to redeem themselves from a season ago and chase after a goal that was set during the preseason.
A national championship.
Let's see if the magic comes back around as March approaches.
