North Carolina Was Unable To Get Stops Late
Coach Davis and his squad failed to get much-needed defensive stops against NC State.
At the 6:02 mark, tied at 60 each, that score changed in a hurry as the Wolfpack went on a 9-0 run before UNC scored at the 3:22 mark due to the work of Armando Bacot. The lead just kept stretching, and the deficit was becoming harder for UNC to overcome as the time wound down.
UNC had to start fouling in order to stop the clock, even though NC State was converting on their free throws. All leading up to UNC's 77-69 road loss in Raleigh. Another chance at a quality victory was missed.
As Coach Davis said to his team following the game, "there's a long season ahead of us."
Hopefully, UNC can string these last four regular-season games together into victories.
The Ball Was Not Dropping During The Second Half
UNC could not make a shot unfortunately, especially during the second half when it mattered the most. Where it only helped NC State's lead grow even more than what it already was.
The trio of Love, Davis, and Bacot went for a combined 14-43 from the field, not the most efficient game whatsoever.
It's hard to win games without making shots, and the basketball did not roll in Carolina's favor this past Sunday.
UNC's Road Trip Moves Forward
North Carolina goes on the road again to play against Notre Dame, who currently have a record of 10-17 on the season and 2-14 within conference play.
The tip-off is set for 9:00 p.m. ET tonight.
Whether it's by one point or thirty, a win is all UNC needs.
