Slow Start For The Heels

During the first half for UNC, the shots were not falling, and it did not help that their defense was nonexistent for the most part.

The ball screen coverage was a concern as on all screens set up by Wake Forest, UNC went into drop coverage, meaning the big man covering the screen would fallback instead of hedging out to the ball handler. This led to many open opportunities downhill for Wake Forest's Tyler Appleby.

In the second half, Coach Davis made an adjustment where he had his players switch on the ball screens. This worked very well, fortunately, as UNC cut the lead down to 7 points late in the final minute of the game, as at one point the Tar Heels trailed by as many as 26 points.

A strong effort by the Heels late in the game was not enough in the 92-85 road loss.

The Backcourt Was Inefficient Against The Demon Deacons

Both R.J Davis and Caleb Love had a very inefficient night as they shot a combined 13 for 37 from the field, completing the game shooting 35% all together.

There were some good shot selections that just didn't drop, while there were also shot selections that were just very questionable too.

Must be a head scratcher for Coach Davis and staff.

Hopefully, Davis and Love pick it up in the next game as the schedule picks up even more with challenging games ahead.

North Carolina Goes Back To The Dean E. Smith Center

The Tar Heels go back home to Chapel Hill in their next contest to play against Clemson, which has a record of 18-6 on the season along with a 10-3 conference record.

A big matchup for the Heels as the regular season is coming to a close.

The start time is set for 2:00 p.m. ET this Saturday, February 11th.
