Chapel Hill - #4 North Carolina enters the Silvio O. Conte Forum tomorrow afternoon against the Boston College Eagles (11-6, 2-4 conference) looking to keep their winning ways rolling yet again.
The Tar Heels stretched their win streak to seven games after taking down Louisville 86-70 at the Dean Smith Center. RJ Davis accounted for 21 points, six rebounds, and six assists, a near triple-double for the guard out of White Plains, New York. Followed by Armando Bacot with an effort that resulted in 19 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. However, the highlight of the night has to be the contributions off the bench by Jae'Lyn Withers, as he notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds through 24 minutes of action. The former Cardinal showed out big time in a game that came within five points early in the second half, after UNC had a double-figure lead. For the team as a whole, North Carolina shot 48% FG, 46% 3PT, and 75% FT. In addition, the trend of UNC's hard-nosed style of defense has been on the rise, and yesterday was no different for them.
Boston College is coming off a victory against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at home by a final score of 63-59. The junior guard out of Salem, Wisconsin, Jaeden Zackery, completed the game with 20 points, three rebounds, and three assists on 80% FG (8-10), 100% 3PT (1-1), and 100% FT (3-3). Quinten Post, the senior out of Amsterdam, Netherlands, was dealing damage on the inside and beyond the arc, scoring 17 points and grabbing four rebounds on 40% FG, 43% 3PT, and 100% FT (2-2). The Eagles up and down the roster converted 38% FG, 39% FT, and 78% FT. Their roster consists of four double-digit scorers, three of whom shoot at least 33% from beyond the arc, posing a threat against the Tar Heels.
UNC is listed at 74.3% for the matchup predictor, according to ESPN Analytics.
