Chapel Hill - The North Carolina Tar Heels make an appearance in the Top 5 of this week's new listing of AP Polls following a campaign where they were given preseason #1 following their run to the National Championship against Kansas but eventually failed to make the NCAA Tournament during their 2022–2023 journey.

AP Poll Rankings Week 10, according to ESPN

 1. UConn
 2. Purdue
 3. Kansas
 4. North Carolina
 5. Houston
 6. Tennessee
 7. Duke
 8. Kentucky
 9. Baylor
 10. Memphis
 11. Wisconsin
 12. Arizona
 13. Auburn
 14. Illinois
 15. Oklahoma
 16. Utah State

 19. TCU
 20. BYU

The rise in this version of the AP Polls comes after defeating NC State (67-54, away) and Syracuse (103-67, home). The two games extend the winning streak up to six games straight, and it doesn't look like it's slowing down either, considering the consistency on the defensive end over the past four outings.

The Tar Heels face Lousiville (6-10, 1-4 conference) and Boston College (11-6, 2-4 conference) this week.

UNC's recent performances have been remarkable, living up to the school's standards.
