Chapel Hill - #3 North Carolina fought hard all the way through as they rolled past the Wake Forest Demon Deacons by 21 points, 85-64. The Dean Smith Center was electric the entire night, witnessing what's commonly known as "Carolina Basketball."

Elliot Cadeau

Elliot Cadeau, a star-studded freshman out of West Orange, New Jersey, is supposed to be in his senior year of high school. However, he made the decision to join the Tar Heels a year earlier than anticipated, and that decision could not have been any better considering the results being produced for this 2023-2024 season of UNC basketball.

Cadeau was not looking like your average true freshman against the Deacons, as he was driving to the cup, making the right pass, and capturing elite ball security at the point guard spot for Coach Davis.

Through the 27 minutes of game time, Cadeau scored 14 points, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out three assists. Each bucket looked more confident than the last, as he was going up against the opposing center with brute force, absorbing the contact.

A one-of-a-kind talent that shines brighter each and every game for the Tar Heels.

RJ Davis

It felt like it was yesterday that RJ Davis entered his freshman year at UNC, playing during one of the craziest times our world has ever seen during a pandemic. Fast forward to now, as it's 2024, and the senior out of White Plains, New York, has exploded out of a box, producing numbers that jump out to you on paper.

The new addition of Elliot Cadeau in the backcourt alongside Davis has brought out the scoring machine within #4. After last night's contest, he has a new career-high for points scored in a game of 36, originally 30. On top of his scoring total, Davis also had four rebounds and one assist. The Deacons elected to play drop-coverage on the screens, which allowed Davis to maneuver in space for drives to the rim. Plus Davis' deep-range three-point shots off the dribble and the catch, displaying his extreme versatility in scoring the ball.

After the conclusion of last night's game, Davis now averages 21 points this season on 45% FG, 42% 3PT, and 94% FT.

Supreme Work on the Defensive End

During the entirety of UNC's winning streak, their defense has improved significantly, from game to game.

Once more against Wake Forest, a team that averaged around 80 points per game was only held to 64 through the 40 minutes.

The Tar Heels have held each of their opponents to 70 points or fewer during this stretch of high-level basketball.

A Trip to Tallahassee, Florida

North Carolina will get some days of rest before going back on the road to meet with Florida State (12-7, 6-2 conference) this Saturday, January 27th.

The game is set to tip off at 2:00 p.m. on ESPN.
