UNC Basketball Preview: First True Road Game for North Carolina of 2023-2024 Season

Chapel Hill - #8 North Carolina meets Pittsburgh on the road tomorrow, at 7 p.m. on ESPN. This contest spots the second conference game of the season as UNC earlier on had a home battle with Florida State that involved a comeback needed to come out on top. Pittsburgh is currently sitting at a 9-4 record while being 0-2 in ACC play 13 games into the season.
To close out 2023, UNC took care of business fairly easily against Charleston Southern routing to a 105-60 blowout victory. The senior guard, RJ Davis, continues to be this team's focal point as he racked up 20 points, five assists, and five steals, making the White Plains, New York native the first-ever Tar Heel to meet these stats in a game. Followed by solid performances through Elliot Cadeau, Armando Bacot, and Harrison Ingram, piling on 13, 12, and 10 points to their name, respectively. Alongside terrific bench contributions by Jalen Washington and Seth Trimble, the big man from Gary, Indiana gathered 17 points a career-high to go with seven rebounds, and the guard from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, totaled 12 points matching his career-high along with 6 rebounds for the night.
The Pittsburgh Panthers go back home after falling to Syracuse by a final score of 81-73. Carlton Carrington the freshman from Baltimore, Maryland, led the way with 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, converting three of five from downtown. On top of that, the sophomore from Canary Islands, Spain, Guillermo Diaz Graham added 14 points, five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. The Panthers average 81 points, 42 rebounds, and 16 assists per game, however, are only a 67% free-throw shooting team.
