Chapel Hill - #7 UNC entered the PNC Arena last night and took down the NC State Wolfpack, 67-54. This marks the Heels third straight road win victory by double figures. An incredible start to the ACC conference play.
Defense Through the Numbers
Once more, the Tar Heels held their opponent to under 60 points by the end of the 40 minutes. The defense of North Carolina limited the Wolfpack to 27% from the field and 10% shooting from beyond the arc. An impeccable performance that ultimately left NC State in a huge hole to dig out of.
The ball-screen coverage, switching out on the perimeter, and help-defense on drives to the rack were extremely evident. The team was able to secure five steals along the way as part of their disruptive game plan.
There are levels for Coach Davis' team on defense, which has resulted in their 4-0 start atop the ACC standings so far.
Rebounding Brought to You by Harrison Ingram
At 6'7, 235 pounds, the junior out of Dallas, Texas, has been a rebounding machine. Logged in at the small-ball four in the starting lineup, last night Ingram consumed 19 rebounds, marking his collegiate career-high.
Despite being undersized playing NC State last night, there was absolutely no problem controlling the glass for #55 in Carolina blue.
A game-changing transfer portal grab that makes his presence felt on the floor.
Home Sweet Home
At last, a home game.
This coming Saturday, January 13th, the Tar Heels will seek another victory against Syracuse (11-4, 2-2 conference) as they get to return to an amped-up crowd.
The game is at 12:00 p.m. on ESPN.

Ingram do be carrying the team!! Wohooo!!!
